Message remains in Outbox after being sent

Some members have been confused by the fact that their messages seem to remain in their Outbox after being sent. This is not the way most email programs work, so it seems as though the message wasn't sent. Here's the deal: The message was sent. It remains in your Outbox until the recipient retrieves the message. Then it disappears from the Outbox.

Our member Fred points out: If you send a message to more than one person, and one of them retrieves the message, it disappear from your Outbox and you don't know for sure whether all the recipients got the message. I guess we will have to take it on faith that it was delivered.
